This document will provide information surrounding and steps to troubleshoot a Sunmi V2 device provided by Snappy Shopper.
Step 1 – Restart
Restarting a device should always the first step attempted for any issues, whether hardware or software. For a myriad of reasons, it is always best to attempt a restart of the device before trying any other steps as it could save time and effort in diagnosing any issues.

- Hold the Power button on the side of the device.
- Select ‘Reboot‘.
Step 2 – Run built-in Diagnostics
The Sunmi V2 device provides a built diagnostics tool. Running this diagnostics will provide an indicator of what could be causing an issue.

- Open the ‘POS Steward’ app on the device.

- This app provides the built-in diagnostics tool in addition to a lot of device specific data such as Serial Number for the device (SN: V….).

- Run through all the test and follow the instructions given on the screen for various tests, such as touching the screen, following patterns with your finger or confirming that something happened.


If any of the tests (expect for the “Button” test) results in a failure, redo all test several times. If there is still a failure, perform to the next step before contacting contact Snappy Shopper for further support.
Step 3 – Device Factory Reset
The Sunmi V2 device provides the ability to reset the device back to its Factory settings, possibly removing any issues caused by misconfigured software or hardware. This should be done as the last step before contacting Snappy Shopper support.
NB: Make sure that your device is connected to a charger as a Factory reset might take a bit of time.

- Open the ‘Settings’ app.
Follow the steps provided below.
Note that all Snappy Shopper app data is stored securely on our servers, so you will not lose any data unless you have pending Order alterations that you are unable to save.




Wait until the device has fully completed the the Factory reset, including following the steps required to connect back to any Wifi network, and wait for the Snappy Shopper Order Management app to be automatically installed on startup.
NB: When asked if you would like to register with Sunmi, please click “Skip” at the bottom of the screen.
NB: If the app does not automatically install on startup, it can be installed via the devices “App Store”.
