This document provides information and step-by-step guidance to troubleshoot a Sunmi V2 device provided by Snappy Shopper.
๐ Step 1 โ Restart the Device
Restarting the device should always be the first step when troubleshooting any issue, whether hardware or software.
For a variety of reasons, a simple restart can often resolve issues quickly and save time on further investigation.
How to restart:
- Hold the Power button on the side of the device
- Select โRebootโ

๐งช Step 2 โ Run Built-In Diagnostics
The Sunmi V2 device includes a built-in diagnostics tool. Running these diagnostics can help identify what may be causing the issue.
How to run diagnostics:
Open the โPOS Stewardโ app on the device

- Use the diagnostics tool within the app
- Run through all available tests
- Follow the on-screen instructions, such as:
- Touching the screen
- Following patterns with your finger
- Confirming whether an action occurred
The POS Steward app also provides device-specific information, such as the Serial Number beginning with SN: Vโฆ

๐ Additional WiFi Testing
Additional WiFi checks can be carried out using the โInternetโ tab within the POS Steward app.
โ ๏ธ If a Test Fails
If any test fails, except the โButtonโ test:
- Repeat all tests several times
- If the failure continues, proceed to the next troubleshooting step
- Contact Snappy Shopper Support if the issue still cannot be resolved
๐ญ Step 3 โ Device Factory Reset
The Sunmi V2 device can be reset back to its factory settings, which may resolve issues caused by misconfigured software or hardware.
โ ๏ธ This should be used as a last step before contacting Snappy Shopper Support.

- Ensure the device is connected to a charger, as the reset process may take some time

- Follow the on-screen steps to perform a Factory Reset

โน๏ธ Important Information
- All Snappy Shopper app data is stored on servers, so no data will be lost
- The only exception is any unsaved order changes, which cannot be recovered
โณ After the Reset
- Wait for the device to fully complete the reset process
- Reconnect to a WiFi network when prompted
- Allow the Snappy Shopper Order Management app to automatically install on startup
โ ๏ธ Additional Notes
- When prompted to register with Sunmi, select โSkipโ at the bottom of the screen
- If the app does not install automatically, download it via the deviceโs App Store
