🖼️ How To Create a Banner Category (and Make it Clickable)

This guide explains how to create a Banner Category and optionally make it clickable so customers can view products within it.

🧭 Step-by-Step Guide

🔐 Step 1: Log in

• Log in to the Admin Area using your credentials
• If you do not have access, please raise a ticket with Support

📍 Step 2: Navigate to Categories

• Click Dashboard (left-hand menu)
• Select Categories

➕ Step 3: Create New Category

• Click “Add” (top left-hand side)

⚙️ Step 4: Configure Category

• Leave Parent Category as ‘Root’
• Enter a Category Name (e.g. Freezer Meal Deal)

💡 Note
The category name will not be visible to customers in-app (only on web if applicable)

🔞 Step 5: Age Restricted Products (If Required)

• If the category contains Alcohol or Tobacco:
  • Tick the relevant boxes
  • Enter “18” in the Age Restriction Old field

🖼️ Step 6: Set as Banner Category

• Scroll to the Banner Category section
• Open the dropdown
• Tick “Is Banner Category”

🎨 Step 7: Adjust Font Colour

• Change the last digit in the Font Colour field from 1 → 0

💡 Tip
This prevents the category name from displaying over the banner image in the app

📤 Step 8: Upload Banner Image

• Click “Upload”
• Select your image

⚠️ Image Requirements

• Format: PNG
• Size: 1125 x 354 pixels

💾 Step 9: Save Category (If None Clickable Banner)

• Scroll to the bottom
• Click “Save”

🔗 Making the Banner Clickable (Optional)

💡 What This Does
Allows customers to click the banner and view products within that category

✅ Step 10: Enable Clickable Banner

• Tick “Is Banner Clickable”

💾 Step 11: Save Changes

• Scroll down and click “Save”

👀 Step 12: Review Category Order

• Go to Dashboard → Categories
• Check your category placement

⚠️ Important
The Banner Category should be the first category on your menu
